ПРОТИСТОЯННЯ, ЩО ТРИВАЄ: КОНЦЕПТ І КОНТЕКСТ В АРХІТЕКТУРІ ХХ ТА ХХІ СТОЛІТЬ

У статті розглядається довготривала дискусія в архітектурній теорії та практиці про те, що є пріоритетом в проєктній роботі архітектора: слідування абстрактним ідеям і концепціям, або взаємодія з оточуючим контекстом. Простежується еволюція цього протистояння протягом XX століття і до сучасності - від заперечення контексту модерністами до виникнення контекстуалізму й постмодернізму як критичної реакції та спроби повернути зв’язок архітектури з її історичними коренями. Розглянуто деякі аспекти критики контекстуалізму і постмодернізму та причини домінації концептуальної парадигми в сучасній архітектурі, а також спроби концептуалізувати проміжну позицію, що наполягає як в необхідності взаємодії з ділянкою, так і в важливості присутності в проєкті виразної та сильної ідеї чи образу. Такий екскурс знайомить з аргументацією, що стоїть за кожною з позицій в цьому протистоянні та сприяє формуванню судження щодо їх релевантності в умовах сучасного стану культури та суспільства.
